Household Plants Can Heal Your Pet
Oct 29th, 2007 by Teri
In my studies of natural therapies and as a nutritional counselor I have used many herbal remedies and therapies to cure my own health issues which have been very effective.
I personally have met and spoken to many people who had cancer. Under the guidance of a Naturopath Doctor and with natural herbs and supplements they are cancer free. The reason I can say this is that I have successfully accomplished this goal in my own life.
Having said this, before you attempt to self heal you or your pet you must consult with a Health Professional as these anecdotes although well researched and documented is for informational purposes only. It is only after sixteen years of study that I can write about the treatments I have used and know that there are different methods to cure cancer not just one. Herbal therapies have been used for centuries by many civilizations around the world with great successful outcomes. Many of these remedies probably are in your house right at this very moment.Aloe Vera (The Aloe Vera Plant)
For those of you that have pets with cancer you may already know of the healing powers of this household plant the Aloe Vera Plant. Most likely, you are only aware of the external applications of the juice of the aloe vera plant or the gel like substance that is inside each leaf of the plant. It is used most often to sooth and heal a sunburn on skin however when ingested I has been known to cure ulcers, colitis and reduce tumors while stimulating the immune system to heal the body.
The main ingredient of the Aloe plant is Polysaccharides, which boost the immune system to fight diseased tumors. It is the basic key to curing a cancerous condition in a pet or a human.
Chemotherapy patients and dogs will often be taking Aloe Vera for protection when chemotherapy drugs compromise the immune system.
I have used Aloe Vera juice and gel to cure an ulcer, which unfortunately I was susceptible to in the past. For thirty days use one part aloe vera gel to 3 parts of a non-acidic juice such as mango, or peach juice not orange juice for the acid can take from the beneficial effects of the aloe gel. I was cured of my ulcer problem in that time and it never has reoccurred sixteen years later. But if I have digestive problems or have an acidic stomach I take it while eliminates the problem by the next day. Not only is the aloe vera plant effective it is less costly than prescription drugs and has no known side effects as do common drugs. For your dog you can mix it with its food, or give by using a teaspoon.
However, when I find I am getting an acidic or pain in my stomach I reach for the aloe juice and it has gone within days.
Pet dogs have a similar physiology to humans and can safely be giving aloe vera juice for stomach problems and problems associated with digestive symptoms.
The basic healing properties of aloe vera is that it detoxifies the system of environmental poisons and supports the liver by helping it to detoxify which is one of the liver’s main functions in the body. There are two forms of Aloe Vera one is for ingestion and the other is for topical use only and they should be used according to that for which is indicated on the label of the product.
For Burns, blemishes or wounds you can use aloe vera gel to heal burns, sunburns, itching, by applying it to the affected area several times per day on your dog or cat. You can also use it on moles, growths, skin allergies, rashes, and especially burns.
For Gingivitis or Oral Problems:
You can brush your own teeth or that of your cat or dog with aloe vera gel for gingivitis, oral ulcers, and bacterial growth in the mouth.
Most pet owners complain of bad or fowl dog breath in their pets, and it can be assisted with proper oral hygiene with a good tooth brush and some aloe vera gel.
I am surprised no one has thought of putting aloe in toothpaste on a massive basis, we could reduce teeth decay and tooth loss substantially in pets.
For Growths and Tumors:
You can apply full strength aloe vera gel from a plant or buy it in at your local health food store. Apply externally on the affected area or skin cancers and if your dog or cat licks it off that’s great too as it will heal inside its body and detoxify the liver at the same time.
If your pet licks it off you can apply it liberally and more often at least several times a day.
For internal use in supporting the healing properties of the immune system you can give your pet 1 teaspoon daily per ten pounds of weight of your pet and guide yourself on that basis.
Again discuss all your needs with a health care pet professional who is experienced in dog health and dog care, before commencing any therapies on your own.
In short summary the Aloe Vera plant is a very powerful, natural, effective, non-toxic healing agent that has many beneficial applications to heal both our pets and ourselves.
