A Healthy Dog’s Breakfast of Champions
What does my dog eat for breakfast, it’s quite simple, easy to prepare and very healthy.
I believe Martha Stewart feeds her Chows scrambled eggs and cottage cheese for breakfast, but I created a new twist which maximizes the health benefits.
Of course you want to choose farm fresh eggs, or the omega eggs that have lower fat content, and keep the same breakfast goodness. Alternate your dog’s breakfast meals such as scrambled eggs one day and cottage cheese the next day thereby alternating to keep life interesting for picky dogs.
You may also want to add some fresh unsweetened yogurt to help your dog digest and provide the friendly bacteria for intestinal good health.
Here is the Recipe for a Dog’s Breakfast of Champions:
Cottage Cheese 1 Percent Low Fat and Flaxseed Oil It can be a wonderfully preventive breakfast for dogs and is simple to make.
For dog’s weight of 10- 20 Pounds:
Take 3-4 tablespoons of Low Fat or No Fat Cottage Cheese (1 %)
Take 1 ½ tablespoon of Flaxseed OilMix thoroughly and feed your dog.
For Dogs weight of 30 to -50 Pounds (double the first Recipe)
For dogs Weight of 50-70 Pounds (triple the First Recipe)
The calcium protects your dog against arthritis and bone diseases, and the Flaxseed Oil protects the healthy cells of your dog against diseases.
You can also add some blueberries, strawberries, or any type of fruit into the mixture.
The reason for this mixture is the powerful combining of the two ingredients the oil binds to the cottage cheese best and so it is digested better or assimilated easier by your dogs’ system.
You will have a dog with a healthy shiny coat and it will live longer.

I heard about Martha Stewart feeding her dogs scrambled eggs but I never tried the flaxseed mixed in with the cottage cheese. I take flaxseed oil myself and I am definitely giving it to my dog now.
Thanks for the very informative articles you write so well.

Teri, I just love your articles and I am sure you are as sick as I am of the treatment of the animals that was reported these last few days. I am so sick of the government allowing this type of cruelty to animals, and they should be closing the doors on those plants.
I am using strictly organic foods from now on. I have a question for you, I am feeding my dog and use a 1/3 protein to 2/3 starch and vegetable mixture for my German Shepherd. For the protein, chicken livers and gizzards are great! The starch can be rice or oatmeal and for the vegetable I use carrots. Add a little wheat germ and garlic. My dog loves this! Is this what you recommend, thanks for your site, and when are you writing a book?
