If you need a free tip on making a disinfectant for your dog’s bedding and you do not want to use commercial cleaners use this environmentally friendly clean recipe.

Making a Concentrated Disinfectant:

1 tablespoon of grapefruit seed extract I teaspoon of tea tree oil½ tablespoon of lavender oil

1 tsp. vodka

Shake it all up in a small bottle and label it concentrated disinfectant.

You can use this recipe to clean the dog’s crate and in the laundry.

For Laundry Use:

Add 20-40 drops into the water for a load of laundry. Mix into the water before adding clothes.

For Washing Floors:

Add 20-40 drops in a bucks of water, or the dishwasher.

For A Dog’s  Infected Ears, Cuts, Wounds or Hot Spots:

Add 10 drops to I teaspoon of water, aloe vera gel, or herbal tea.

Clean the area well using a cotton swab.  For dog ear cleaning, drop a few drops into the water and with a dropper put in your dogs ears, massage the ear canal very well, and then clean out carefully with a cotton swab.

    I only use natural cleaners and have not come across this one before, so I will try it out for my 12 year old lab. He has allergies and I could not use household cleaners around the house.
    Thanks for the great tip, it sure beats those smelly chemicals.
