The Park Dogs-Swans and Whoopie
Apr 10th, 2008 by Teri
I just had to share some good time pictures of the park dogs where Whoopie and I go for walks, chase sticks, feed the swans, and talk to the group of dog owners. We were all out there this morning sharing the warm sun, cookies, and few laughs! The pictures of the beautiful swans, Canadian geese, Mallard ducks and dogs were just so nice I had to share them with you. These photos were taken on the Henley River near my home which leads out to Lake Ontario nearby at the mouth of the river. Its a beautiful scenic park that was once owned by a fruit farmer and there are still apple and cherry trees that need picking every year. Thats where Whoopie loves to chase little green apples in the summer…life is beautiful.

Have a great rest of the day….

Awwwwwwwwwww! *gasp* How peaceful and serene! These are beautiful and calming pictures! Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Megan it was truly a special day and the swans, geese and dogs just made it all so special with Whoopie, glad you liked the photos.
Teri, this place looks beautiful. I wish we had somewhere like that near me. Joyee actually needs to learn to mingle with other dogs. I think sometimes she forgets she is a dog. Ummm, wonder who’s fault that is.
Hi Rita:
Thank you so much and I feel blessed to be near such a beautiful river with the wildlife we have here - these swans will come right up to you as well as the geese and I just love them.
Start with going to a park - some parks here are leashless and some are with a lease requirement. I try to ease Whoopie into saying ” hello” to other dogs and they pretty much do the rest.
When I introduce her to another dog - she gets protective of me and may bark…but within a minute or so, they are both wagging their tails! It becomes a regular outing and she looks forward to seeing her pals at the park. Maybe you may have one near you that you can take her too, also I take her to the petstore and she loves that! Socializing is important and it may take some time but well worth it. Thanks for your comments ! Your definitely in the running for a Doggy Tug Toy!!
