You really have to commend the entrepreneurial spirit of dog owners today that are tired of substandard products on the market that are cheaply made and fall apart easily.
Kelly Ann Stafford from Austin Texas got the brainstorm from the frustration of her dogs chewing everything in her house from socks, to towels, bathrobes anything they could get their paws on was chewed up. I have looked at these tug toys and wondered if they would be a good toy.
With my dogs activity level he needs something like this. I also like to spend that quality time with him. Great idea for a contest! There will be many happy dogs and owners!
I love having tug toys for my dogs, because as you said, it gives you an activity you can do with them, and technically still sit on the couch. Is it safe at all to life up the tug toy while the dog has a hold of it, and life the dog into the air? Of course I never take them too high as I don’t want them hurt, but does this process hurt them at all?
Hi Gus: Thank you for your reply you are now entered into the contest and yes it will benefit your dog to have some one on one interaction with you or other dogs. I do not really recommend lifting your dog in the air while it is holding on to the Doggy Tug toy I think it may be harmful to its teeth especially if you have an older dog.
Just playful tugging is fine, but I am sure your dog will not want to give up this toy or give it back to you. Hope this answers your question but do make some more suggestions on this site in the comments….

My new weimaraner puppy chews on everything, including me. I look like I have been attached by an angry mountain lion. The tug toys you are showing look wonderful and may save my life.
My dog, Pepper, had no idea of what toys were for when I found her as a stray. She is a Cattle dog, and while she was always revved up to herd the cats, the horses, or the lawnmower (yes, the lawnmover; she bites the tires), she still doesn’t care much for toys.
Maybe this toy would spark her interest.
Kathy, my Joyee is the same way. She likes stuffed animals that she can bite the arms and legs off and pull the stuffing out.
Oh, and if it works, I’m going to order one in every color! LOL

I had to laugh, my dog Whoopie has a toy that she has had since childhood. Its a polka dotted froggie, with long legs….she has over the last 5 years …only nibbled the fingers and hands of the frog.

Teri, I have just disovered that a tug toy is wonderful for teething puppies. Not only can they chew to help the teething process, they can shake it vigorously which puppies love to do. Great puppy toy.
