Pedi Paws Product is Great!
Finally some one has come up with a tool for nail trimming my dog’s nails. I have struggled with the clippers and unfortunately sometimes harming my dog in the process causing some pain.
The reason you must trim your pets nails is because it helps them walk better and does not spread out their toes in an unnatural manner.  To keep your dog’s toes healthy and keep your dog running well the nails should be trimmed regularly.
The regular clippers do not guide you as far as how much to remove safely because generally they crush the nail while cutting through it. This product is gentle and cannot crack or split the nail so its much easier to trim the nail smoothly.
I am sure you hear the tap tap tap on the floor when you dog is walking on a wood or solid floor, that usually is a sign you need to get trimming. When your dog or cat’s nails are too long they get caught and can damage furniture, carpets and floors.

I have ordered this product as quickly as I could and it works fantastically for Whoopie and easier for me to handle than the older style clippers which are just as expensive.  Just use it gently let your dog get used to the tool, and follow the instructions.
The proper way to trim your pet’s nails is from the bottom up not the other way around.  If your pet’snails are clear you can see the live part which is the pink blood vessels through the nail.  Regular clippers will crush the nail and cause bleeding and pain. If this occurs you must use a styptic powder and put tissue paper on it until it stops bleeding and then put a bandage on it.
That seems like a lot of work and is painful for your pet. If you watch this video by clicking on the link it will show you how effortlessly you can trim your dogs paws.
If you have trimmed your dogs nails sufficiently you should not hear that tap tap tap sound on the floor. The nails should not touch the floor
Bonus: They actually have a bonus offer that includes a free Shed Ender for removing trapped fur in the undercoat of your pet, and you will receive it at no extra charge.

PS/ Mallory; the motor should not be that noisy, if it is…you may wish to return it to the store, and get another one. test it before you buy it….it should not create that much noise that your pet is afraid as I mentioned above. thanks

Hi Mallory: I have heard that some dogs are afraid of the motor sound, but also that it is not too noisy. Is your dog afraid of sounds in general or is it a smaller dog? It is something they will get used to with time, as grooming whether it is done by yourself or at the groomers can be noisy at times. The Pedi Paw does make it “safer” for trimming pet nails, which by the other method crushes the nails -and this product trims by a small grinding wheel which cannot damage the nail quiver or nerve. If you wish to calm your dog, you may wish to try a melatonin tablet about 1 hr before trimming its nails and it may help to calm the dog down before trimming its nails. Melatonin is available on my site in the right hand column and it does reduce anxiety. I do hope you can find this information useful for trimming your dog’s paws. thanks for stopping in to doghealth1.com

I just purchased Pedi-Paws 2day..and well me and my sister follwed directions. But the dogs were still scared!! The motor was not quiet..it was kinda loud.

I do not believe it is very noisy no but you could try it. It is a lot less frightening for an owner to groom their dog than to take it to a dog groomer some times for dogs that are scared. I know my first poodle Scarlett would tremble when she went to the groomers, so I learned how to do it myself and saved the money. Takes a little time to learn and skill but well worth it. If the Pedipaw doesn’t make sense for you, there is the Dremel tool available at most hardwares stores, I know Home Depot has them that are very quite and easy to use if this product does not appeal to you.
    Cheers
and let me know how things work out

Does the Pedi Paws make a lot of noise that could scare a dog? I really would like to use this product, but I’m afraid the noise would further harm my dog. Please let me know. She’s already terrified of having them clipped because they have hurt her.

If you listen very carefully to the TV ad when mentioning the “Free” Bonus ShedEnder it does mention paying the S/H for this freebie. I didn’t buy off the TV ad but bought my PediPaws at Walgreen’s for $19.99. I will be returning it tomorrow since it does not do the job on my 85 lb Irish Setter who has very hard and thick nails. The wheel just stops even tho’ I am not putting much pressure on it with the nail in place. I will use my Dremel in the future.

    Dear Don:

I purchased the PediPaws tool, and it worked well. However, the company advertises that you will receive a bonus ShedEnder if you order. The price of the PediPaw tool had shipping and handling charges applied (I ordered by credit card), but the ShedEnder was not included. I called the company and was told I was would have to pay another shipping and handling charge. No mention was made of an additional shipping charge ($7.99) in the advertising, just that the ShedEnder was a bonus. I feel the company rips off people with these extra charges.

Thank you for your comments and I do love your blog also especially on rescue dogs which I have written much about their services to helping save lives. Keep up the good work and best of luck.
