Stem cells for dogs has been proven time and again to be effective in great improvement if not completely healing arthritis and bone disease for dogs and horses. The cost approximately $ 1,200 to $ 2,000.00. Compare this to the ancient method of a hip replacement for a dog which is $10,000.00 in the US and it is a no brainer. You wouldn’t subject your dog to painful surgery, drugs, 6 months of rehab and chances are a less than stellar result.

Which would you chose for your dog? The progress in human stem cells is being delayed due to the failed attempts that special interests do not want to cure disease. We all know that these special interests control the government with campaign contributions. Isn’t it time to fast track human stem cell treatments for people now rather than later? The reason many Americans have to travel to China, or offshore to receive stem cell treatments is because it is banned in the USA currently and is not happening fast enough to save the lives of those who are dying every day. Clinical trials in COPD stem cell needs to be made available now not in 10-15 years from now.

The Vet Stem Cell company that is advancing stem cell treatments for animals is quickly outpacing its human counter part research groups and laboratories who can’t seem to fast track their own studies.

We cannot afford delay in stem cell research-our dogs are getting better chances at recovery from disease that we can for our own bodies.

The CDC has stated that this new swine flu strain is a mixture of 3 viruses not found in nature prior to 2008 when discovered at a pig farm in Mexico. The US pig farm was one of the large industrialized farms-where 1 million pigs at a time are  raised for the pork eating market in the USA.

Many have raised questions that have never been answered about the Swine Flu and how it was initiated since it is made of 3 viruses namely: the pig, avian and human flu.

This newly named H1N1 Swine Flu is a human to human disease now with no origins in pigs which really doesn’t make sense.  The media hype is overboard on fear and pet owners are concerned about the dog flu affecting their pets this year.

Can the Swine Flu be Spread from You to Your Dog

Dogs and Cats their own flu viruses called Type A  – H3N8 and the feline kind for cats is A H5N1 and that classification is a pet flu.

Birds are supposedly causing the spreading of viruses from humans, to animals and back to humans again and new strains are arriving almost every year.  The Avian Flu began on a chicken farm in China causing the destruction of their chicken population.

Rarely has a human been infected by a pig but this pig flu mixed up and was spread to the human population a newly created virus which is sending the whole world into a tizzy.  The CDC predicted 90,000 deaths and 135 million people will be infected with this Swine Flu.

As you can see-the media has picked up on the hype and a rush to produce an “untested” Swine Flu Vaccine is more frightening that the flu itself. The ultimate answer is NO your dog cannot spread the Swine Flu -nor can you give your dog or cat the Swine Flu, there has been to date – no spread from people to pets. Here is how to prevent dog flu in pets and keep your pet healthier.

To Prevent any infection, flu or viruses from contact with your pet here are some handy tips.

1) Limit contact with other dogs that may have the flu especially nose-to-nose contact.

3) Do not allow your dog to sniff other dogs -especially at the Vets office, groomers, etc.

In 2007 we posted several articles on the benefits of stem cell research from a company called Vet Stem Regenerative Veterinary Medicine.

We would like to revisit vet stem to see what has transpired in the past years to help dogs overcome diseases and untimely deaths. More than 3,000 horses have received stem cell treatments

Vet Stem Cell Treatments for Dogs-Less Expensive than Surgery

The procedure involves taking some 2 tablespoons of fat tissue from the back of the dogs neck area and it is sent to Vet Stem in California who are the global leaders in veterinary stem cell research. Vet stem has literally performed stem cell transplantation in over 1,000 dogs with great success.

Upon receiving the fat tissue samples vet stem extracts and separates the Adult Stem Cells from the fat tissue. The very same day the stem cells are sent back to a participating veterinarian who then injects the millions of stem cells back into your dog’s bones and joints.  The results can be seen in weeks instead of months later as in surgical procedures.

Use Your Dogs Own Adult Stem Cells to Heal Diseases

If veterinarians “get this” why don’t doctors and government get this? The success stories are here, the trials have been studied -the results are very clearly positively and confirmed to show positive repaired diseases in dogs, and horses. It it works for animals and for humans also. Apparently your dog is getting better medical care than you are at this time.

Cats are healing also and trials are being conducted to heal feline kidney diseases and the Vet Stem Cell Company are on the forefront and are leaders who will only grown by leaps and bounds in the future -healing our pets and animals with this simple procedure.

The cost is far less than surgical intervention and the benefits of stem cell treatments over surgery are many and include:

No cutting of tissue, bones or or surgical errors.
No costs for general anethstetic or pain drugs -before during and after the procedure.
No waiting time to heal from surgery.
No apparatus to help mobility during healing is necessary.
No cost for anethstetic healing time is weeks instead of months.
Cost wise -stem cell treatments are far less than surgical intervention.

A few years ago the Vice President of the Muscular Dystrophy Association commented on the work underway by researchers at the University of Pittsburgh.  The use of stem cell treatments to relieve symptoms of muscular dystrophy in dogs holds promise in defeating the disease in children.  Muscular dystrophy is a muscle wasting disease that occurs in one of every 3,500 male births.

There is also promising results for dogs treated for melanoma by genetically engineering stem cells from bone marrow to destroy cancer proteins as studies held in Britain.  The adult stem cells known as mesenchymal stem cells can attack cancer cells while leaving health cells to thrive.  These studies have been in progress since 2006 and again are showing positive results.

For people and their pets adult stem cell research should be funded and put on the fast track to help relieve pain and suffering and save lives now -rather than later.

There have been many success stories reported on Doghealth1.com on pets who are gaining benefit from stem cell transplants for hip and elbow dysplasia and arthritis.
Now a boy from Seminole County in Florida is regaining his eyesight after being diagnosed with Optic Nerve Hypoplasia at birth which is an underdeveloped optic nerve condition causing blindness.
A 2 year old boy is regaining eyesight after traveling to China to have an experimental stem cell procedure. His name is Tre Burgos who lives in Seminole County in Florida had his initial vision tested at 20/1200 which is considered near blindness.  Tre could not see to play with his toys or enjoy learning new things.

It was not an easy decision to send Tre for treatment and the costs were astronomical at $ 43,000.00 but how do you put a price on a child’s eyes. Tre was sent to China for an experimental stem cell procedure and three weeks later his vision is miraculously improved to 20/200. The treatment process consisted of four stem cell intravenous injections and a spinal catheter.

Quoted from Mrs. Burgos “It probably exceeded my expectations” and “I never expected it to be this much this fast”. “It is just really amazing watching him see something for the first time” she added.

Stem cell treatment for human use is not approved in the US, and it needs to be.  Duke University is researching stem cells and many other medical research teams are now conducting research, however there needs to be more for both people and pets. Families now can save the stem cells from the umbilical cord at birth and more are now informed that it can save your babies lives and good health.

This summer bone marrow transplants are also becoming available for dogs at Washington State University which have been used with humans for the past 20 years saving thousands of lives.

Stem cell transplants and babies cord blood stem cells offer a more immediate and economical method to prevent some types of diseases and may even be used to treat cancer if we continue the research.  The lack of side effects such as surgeries, and pain are eliminated with stem cell transplants.

So if you have a dog, cat or pet and might have a child on the way consider banking the cord stem cells for the future, it just might produce a miracle in your child’s life as it has with dogs.
