We never like to think about it but there are times in an emergency when you may have to perform CPR on your dog, but how do you do it?
CPR stands for Cardio Pulmonary resuscitation which is an emergency procedure for a person or pet who has no pulse, or has stopped breathing and this is often called Mouth to Mouth. It also consists of heart massage to restore not only the heartbeat but also circulating the blood and to prevent the lack of oxygen to the brain and death. When your dog is not breathing- do not stop to think about it -just perform the CPR as quickly and safely as you can, and this is why you must know how to do it properly and effectively.
The US American Red Cross has been teaching people how to perform CPR on friends and family but who else wants to learn about helping a pet cat or dog and how do you do it?

Dog CPR in an Emergency
The same procedure used for humans is basically used for pets and instead of breathing in the dogs mouth you breath into their nose. This provides air to the lungs and could save their life.
As a starter knowing where you dog’s heart is a good start so basic animal anatomy is always a life saving bit of knowledge every pet owner should have ready in case of an emergency.
