The First Dog is home at last and the Obama Family could not be happy with their new First Dog at the Whitehouse. First dog Bo has made a splash in Washington on the south lawn of his new home with the President and his family.

President Obama is quoted as saying “he has Star Quality” about his new First Dog which is a Portuguese Water Dog breed, a gift from Senator Ted Kennedy. In this exlusive video you will see Bo romping around with Sasha and Milia Obama and the President with his wife Michelle all taking turns guiding Bo to his first press conference. Bo did very well and galloped around on his leash for a 6 month old puppy, well at least he did not get out of hand like Barney Bush who snapped at a reporter.  The next step in training puppies is to walk the dog often and let him go outside.  A special place can be arranged where Bo will go on his daily walks. Puppy training at six months of age for a dog are the formative years of good dog training.  Regular feeding times also will be important and keeping the dog’s feeding and walking times in tune with the daily Whitehouse schedule for stability in Bo’s life.  We wish the Obama’s good times with their new First Dog and much enjoyment with two girls growing up in the Whitehouse with their First Dog.

Go to a great site called All About Labradors for the best post on the actual facts of the ingredients used in over the counter Pet Flea and tick products that contain pesticides.  This is really important information for all dog owners before you buy- you should know the real truth.

Information that I am about to reveal is vital if you want to keep your dog healthy and avoid it’s untimely death or injury due to the strength of the pesticides in pet products pertaining to flea and tick control.

The Center for Public Integrity a site that I subscribe to reports a large number of dogs are being injured or died as a result of these pesticides and it makes reasonable sense that this information should not be censored or subject to criticism from the manufacturers of this product.  I will not repeat what is in these links but I urge you to click on these links and learn what is not being told to you personally as a pet owner I would want to know everything that composes a product I buy. These days it is what you don’t know and are not being told by the EPA that are supposedly protecting your interests.  If you also go to Natural News there is a plethora of documented product listed that are approved by the FDA, which you know have already been recalled or have deadly side effects for people. Same thing for dogs.

Why Pyrethroid is Deadly:

You really need to explore the strength of the amount of Pyrethroid in Flea and Tick Pet products because this chemical is a pesticide for the mosquitos that carry the West Nile Virus.  Yes that is all well and good but the amount of this chemical is great than the concentrations allowed for humans, and is a whopping 13 percent stronger for dogs.

This means your dog is getting a stronger dose than a human being, and the added chemical Piperonyl Butoxide acts as an agent which keeps it in your dog’s bloodstream even longer. This increases the amount of chemical you are subjecting your dog to which increases the amount of toxicity. If you do not believe me you should get the information on this now at: The EPA and find out what they do not tell you.

What Piperonyl Butoxide does can be found here: Piperonyl Butoxide

Pets are indeed dying because of the inaccurate and dangerous application of pesticides in flea and tick products sold over the counter and  25,000 pets have died already.

Many of these products do not require a prescription from your vet so that consumers are using them without the full knowledge or warnings that a competent vet would or should give you the whole story.  Here is Diane Bromenschenkel’s story of her dog – you may want to read this now.

The Center for Public Integrity is presenting this information so you need to know what you are really buying in pet products.

  Bailey

Welsh Corgi having a chiropratic treatment

Bailey is an Akita chox mix dog that goes to the North Worthington Pet Clinic in Columbus, Ohio and had a busy day planned at the clinic.

She had a chiropractic treatment for her spine, acupuncture for her legs, and a shot of herbals for her knees. A full day of alternative medicine will keep her tail wagging a bit longer.

More pet owners like Adam Eisenberg are using alternative medicine for their pets and the numbers are growing. You may remain skeptical at some natural remedies but they work and without side effects. There is no way that a pharmaceutical drug can re-align your dog’s spine because it just will not work and you will spend a fortune on drugs.

Over 1.2 billion dollars were spent on pet alternative medicine last year for supplements, vitamins, treatments and organic foods and the numbers increase each year. That many people cannot be wrong or they are seeking more natural remedies for their pet’s illness and discomfort with disease and pests.

The philosophy that “ what is good for me, is good for my dog” is held by many pet owners today as human supplements are found to have great benefit in pets. What has been tested on human beings works and now its working for the animal kingdom.

Ronda Saunders had an ill-tempered horse named Granville and called a chiropractor and the next day she rode that horse, walked and trotted with no more bucking from her horse. She spent all of $ 65.00 she had ever spent and has been a believer ever since that experience and now takes her Welsh Corgi to have treatments also.

The dog is more perkier and is jumping after adjustments made the pain go away. Alternative medicine is just not acupuncture or chiropractic treatments it involves treating the whole pet’s mind, body and spirit. You cannot heal a pet with a broken spirit for instance that has been abused. Treating the pet with gentle massage, and some loving care cannot be purchased in a bottle of pills.

Vitamins and herbal supplements are so very beneficial for detoxing your pet and maintaining good health. Next time you pet has a health issue consider visiting your local alternative medicine veterinarian and see the difference yourself.

You may be confused today with the choices available in pet supplements and vitamins at your local pet store and even more when shopping online.

A good rule on buying supplements for your pet is to buy the very best quality as it is worth the price.

Most dog foods do not contain enough nutrition for your dog even if the advertising claims say new and improved you have to look at ingredients.

Supplementing your pet’s diet is not only saving you money on vet bills but also keeps your dog in a good healthy condition.

Buy from a Reputable Company:

Many companies will just cut corners on quality ingredients and offer substandard vitamins and supplements. But there are companies on line that have longstanding reputations to uphold and we recommend those very highly.

Organic supplement companies use natural ingredients with no chemical additives, colors, fillers, and useless ingredients.  A good supplement company will have their own testing laboratories to test their products and even give them to their own pets.

Stick with the Basics:

A good multiple vitamin in one pill is much desired by pet owners since giving a pet a pill is not easy. Vitamin B is extremely helpful as is Vitamin A and D. A good essential fatty acid supplement will help with dry, or itchy skin and coat problems.

Some vitamins are available in liquid form which is easy to administer with a spoon or sprinkled on food.

Natural vs. Synthetic Supplements:

Vitamins that come from natural sources such as plants are far more effective and preferable than those that are imitation or made from chemicals in a lab.

Again quality makes the difference and you would rather pay a few cents more per pill than to buy something that is not effective and not worth the money.  Always using natural supplements is the best advice in finding a supplier of the best for your dog.
